ABOUT

“It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.” - Henry David Thoreau

Creating has been the cornerstone of my life, inspiring me to see things differently. Seizing a clichéd motto about regret, I became a full-time artist in 2022 after a too-close brush with death. Yes, that's what almost dying does for some people.

Living with art can transform a room's energy, open our minds, and make us happier.

As a multidisciplinary artist, I alternate between my own series of works, collaborations with designers, and accepting art commissions from individuals. If you might be interested in a custom piece of artwork, have a look at how commissions work here.

I am driven by experimentation and the reflection of abstract expressionism within nature. I work in a variety of art styles and mediums, and when not fearlessly following my artistic heart, I feel lucky to spend time in nature in my garden.

BIOGRAPHY

Jade grew up in rural southwestern Ontario, between the small towns of Hickson and Tavistock.

She attended CASS, a Woodstock high school with a notable art program. While there in her 17th year, she was one of twenty Ontario students chosen to participate in a summer art scholarship program taught by Toronto artists at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) in Toronto. That summer of '78  had an indelible influence on her art.

In 2011, Jade co-won the Naples Retail Experience of the Year award for a designed commercial interior for Ace Hardware in Naples, Florida.

With a return to painting, she was awarded the Juror’s Choice award at Papermill Gallery, Toronto, Ontario, in 2012 for her submission, "He Had Returned," an acrylic, semi-abstract amaryllis.

Jade lives in London, Ontario, where she experiments with new directions for her art while creating artwork for interior designers and commissions for individuals.

She continues a book project featuring watercolour street scenes in downtown London, highlighting the colourful metal trees installed in 2007.

Nursery murals by Jade Brown Creates

C. Montgomery

London, ON

I commissioned a custom nursery mural from Jade Brown, a local London artist. I wanted to surprise my daughter, son-in-law, and their newborn as they moved into a new home. It was a great surprise for them, and everyone loved it. Jade did an incredible job.
