Jade Brown provides art commissions and murals in London, Ontario.

Commissioning a piece of art or a mural is an easy way to bring original art into your space.
The process is relaxed and never pressured. Most commission /mural projects range from $400 to $600 (smaller works) and $1,000 to $6,000 (larger pieces). You are under no obligation to purchase the final piece of art. Murals are approved prior to their installation through detailed sketches.

Show me something that inspires you: a favourite photograph, a meaningful place, or simply an idea you would like brought to life.
I provide preliminary sketches and updates to help you visualize the composition, colours, and overall direction of the work. The process is designed to be straightforward and flexible, requiring only as much involvement as you wish.
Whenever possible, a site visit (virtual or in-person) is invaluable for helping me understand your interior, furnishings, lighting, and overall atmosphere so that the artwork integrates naturally into your space.
I collaborate with interior designers and can work directly with project palettes and materials to create a cohesive result.
Commissions can be created within a variety of budgets, and I am happy to discuss options that align with your space and price range.

Sweet Dreams |
Acrylic | Nursery mural.
A thoughtful mom surprised her daughter and son-in-law with this nursery mural for their first baby. Her designer and I collaborated on the colour scheme based on the wall colour and pieces in the room. A portable round wooden piece gave a second life to the mural when it was gifted to a friend after the baby grew out of it.

Commissions are a rewarding collaborative process. Drawn to the rich blues of sky and water from a recent holiday, this client initially had no specific subject in mind. After reviewing several preliminary landscape sketches, she was reminded of travels through British Columbia — a direction that resonated deeply. Using reference images of the falls and my layered glazing technique, the final piece displayed a strong sense of depth, atmosphere, and movement.

Ode to Robert Smalls | Acrylic and collage on paper | 40 x 30"
This client wanted a piece that honoured an important historical figure. After sharing reference images of contemporary portrait works that resonated with him, I developed the concept further by incorporating elements of the historical narrative directly into the composition through layered text on paper. The result felt both contemporary and quietly provocative.

She Could Not Believe Them When They Told Her She Was Special | Acrylic | 42 x 42"
This wasn't really a commission. While waiting for my daughter at Western University after photographing some coneflowers nearby, I reflected on the young women crossing through that formative chapter — carrying hope, uncertainty, ambition, and self-doubt in equal measure. Empathy shaped the mood of the painting.
Today, the artwork lives with my daughter, who has gone on to build a career centred around helping others.
